Commute Another Way Week 2010 :

May 17 is Vanpool Monday!

  • If you aren’t already in a vanpool, check with GO MAINE to see if there is a spot available van route in your community. E-mail us to ask about van availability on your commuting route. If you try it, we think you will like it!
  • Suggest a vanpool route in your area.
    Are there other commuters like you who live and work near you? Let us know if you think a vanpool would work well on your route.

May 18 is Transit Tuesday!

  • BANGOR: Celebrate Transit Tuesday with The BAT.  7 a.m.-9 a.m., Pickering Square Parking Garage.  Join The BAT for breakfast, and find out more about riding the bus, carpools, vanpools, walking and riding your bike in the Bangor region. May 21 is Maine Bike to Work Day!

  • For Portland area bike commuters: Ride your bike to work and join us from 7-9:00 AM for a celebration at Lobsterman Park (corner of Temple and Middle St in downtown) for a free breakfast, music, exhibits and a chance to win prizes. From 11-1:00 join us again at Lobsterman Park for a lunchtime bonanza of exhibits, bike vendors, bike demos, bike workshops, discount lunch coupons and a chance to win more prizes! Learn more.
  • Join Portland Trails for a guided walk along the new Bayside Trail.  We’ll learn about the new trail and bike/ped connections that will make your travel through downtown Portland quicker, easier, and safer! Meet at 5 PM at the Eastern Mountain Sports parking lot (corner Elm St. and Marginal Way). The walk will last about an hour.
